Description
Matisse Turps-based Matt Varnish produces a hard, non-yellowing, protective coating with a subdued matt sheen.
To use, apply a minimum of two coats for a consistent subdued sheen finish. Drying time is approximately 6-8 hours depending upon weather conditions. Make sure the first coat is dry before applying the second.
Strippable, the varnish re-dissolves in mineral turpentine, which has no effect on Matisse acrylic paints: thus a painting may be completely cleaned and re-varnished without affecting the paint. Ideal for use in restoration (may be used on oil paintings). Also called Retouch Varnish (a retouch varnish can be achieved with the addition of 80% mineral turps).
