Hilldav Etching Press Direct Drive 1424

Hilldav Etching Press Direct Drive 1424 is a compact and easy to operate etching press that is suitable for metal plate, lino, and wood block printing. This press is suitable for students, schools, and amateur printmakers alike!

The bed plate of this Hilldav Etching Press Direct Drive 1424 is manufactured from Bakelite, a black laminate that is strong, durable, and lightweight. This material makes a good alternative to steel beds in an etching press.

Hilldav Etching Press Direct Drive 1424 feature rollers made from heavy gauge machined steel running on self-aligning ball bearings. The top roller is high quality machine ground. Gear reduction models are driven via a roller chain from the hand wheel to the bottom roller and therefore requires less effort to drive the bed plate through the roller. The chain wraps around the sprocket engaging with many teeth thus reducing the load per tooth.
