Formerly known as Neo Megilp, Gamblin Galkyd Lite Gel offers artists a softer gel medium compared to traditional Galkyd Gel, making it ideal for glazing, layering, and building subtle texture in oil paintings.

Perfect for artists working with transparent colour and glazing techniques, Gamblin Galkyd Lite Gel increases paint flow and extends colour while allowing brushstrokes to glide smoothly across the surface. Its unique formulation creates slightly thicker paint layers that retain their texture, making it suitable for expressive mark-making as well as controlled blending and glazing applications.

Formulated with Gamsol, this medium remains workable for hours and offers a moderate drying time of approximately 3 to 4 days, giving artists greater flexibility while accelerating drying compared to standard oil paint alone. Unlike other Galkyd mediums, Gamblin Galkyd Lite Gel dries to a refined satin gloss finish rather than a high gloss, making it an excellent choice for artists seeking softer surface sheen and greater visual depth.

Ideal for use with oil paints on canvas, linen, board, and primed surfaces, it pairs perfectly with Gamblin oil colours, Gamsol, varnishes, and other oil painting mediums.

Key Features:

Softer gel medium for oil painting

Increases transparency and paint flow

Creates a smooth, silky feel when painting

Ideal for glazing and transparent layering techniques

Retains brushstroke texture in thicker applications

Moderate drying time of 3 to 4 days

Remains workable for hours

Dries to a satin gloss finish

Formulated with Gamsol for reliable performance

Suitable for use with oil paints on canvas, linen, board, and primed surfaces

Formerly known as Neo Megilp
